Eastside Projects is proud to present the first group exhibition in the second gallery programme. We have invited three young Birmingham-based artists working within a variety of forms, processes and adoptive positions in order to access performative spaces of production. Gene-George Earle (b. 1988, South Africa) is employing a local sign holder. Joanne Masding’s (b. 1985, UK) new projection work takes an element of the second gallery as its start and end point referring to the Japanese aesthetic Wabi-Sabi. Ultra High Temperature #1 is a publication project exploring the artistic and political potential inherent in visions of technosexuality. Rebecca Bibby (b. 1986, UK) produces an essay designed by An Endless Supply (Robin Kirham and Harry Blackett); UH Thompson is embodied by a lo-fi automated signature machine; and Polly Fibre uses crudely adapted dress making tools and sonic instruments for a performance on the opening night.
